Charlotte’s first instinct is to be deeply offended, but she reminds herself in the nick of time that she’s dealing with a child here. ‘I am an adult,’ she reminds herself, remaining calm. Despite this, her smile becomes strained and her voice slightly strangled.] I had all them tutors because my daddy didn’t wanna send me away t’boardin’ school. They was the best educators money could buy, don’t you think for a minute that I’m without mah wits! [realizes that her voice was raising, Lottie tones herself down a note, and her grin replaces its self.] An’ I can talk jus’ fine. I jus’ happen t’have an accent is all.

Where are you even from? You talk super fast. In Hawaii, we talk slow, laid back, chill,” Lilo responded while getting hypnotized by the waves of the sea.
